Blushing Whiskey Sour is the perfect cocktail recipe for St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, spring or any time you’d love a delicious whiskey drink. Great for blackberry lovers – delish.
A while back I shared with you my Simple Lemon Syrup. I’m sure some of you were wondering what I would make with it to share with you here.
Well – since it’s nearly St. Patrick’s Day, I thought I would give you another mixed drink recipe. I gave this one a girly twist & it turned out so pretty.
Loving this Blushing Whiskey Sour because I went light on the whiskey & heavier on the lemon so you can enjoy it without too much. Especially since St. Patty’s is mid-week this year.
But honestly, this drink is great for more than St. Patrick’s Day. I like to serve it at bridal showers, Easter gatherings & when just chilling out in the backyard on a hot summer day.

Plus it’s easy to make – just shake all of the ingredients together in the shaker & pour.
Here are some commonly asked questions
What if I don’t have Simple Lemon Syrup?
I have the recipe here if you want to make it from scratch. However, you can also use this lemon simple syrup found here.
Do I have to use Bushmills whiskey?
No, you don’t. However, that is my preference, especially during the St. Patrick’s Day season.
How many can this serve?
This recipe is written per glass. So if you are serving for a party, you will need to make these per guest.

Can this recipe be doubled?
I prefer to mix per glass, instead of trying to get the blackberries to all break up when the shaker is overly full with double the ingredients.
HOW DO YOU MAKE a Blushing Whiskey Sour?
- Add all ingredients to shaker & shake vigorously until blackberries start to break up to give that gorgeous blush color.
- Strain into glass packed with fresh crushed ice.
- Garnish with additional blackberries.
What is a whiskey sour?
A traditional whiskey sour is a mixed drink made with whiskey or bourbon, lemon juice, & simple syrup. It is made in a cocktail shaker with ice & served on the rocks, usually garnished with an orange slice & maraschino cherry.
What makes this different than a whiskey sour?
This blushing whiskey sour is still made with lemon, simple syrup, and whiskey or bourbon, but we are adding blackberries to give it that beautiful pink color. Then instead of the orange & cherry, we are garnishing it with more blackberries.
